The Hospital stay

Ellie got sick on Friday May 4th. She had been throwing up and had diarrhea the entire day, Saturday wasn't any better, I couldn't keep anything in her and she wouldn't drink enough to keep her from dehydrating so I took her in to see the after hour Doctor, he took one look at her and could tell how sick she was, he checked her out and told me he was going to admit her to the hospital, like any mother I broke down in tears and headed to the hospital. It was so sad to see her like this and to be poked and prodded. They put her on an IV (which was awful trying to find a vein) to get her fluids back up and they also found she had a bit of pneumonia. She didn't start perking up till the 3rd day. We are so lucky to have such great doctors to help these little tike's out. Dr. Later released us on Tuesday May 8th. It was a very long 4 days, not to mention we were moving that Friday too! Ellie was still having major diarrhea (Rota virus...very contagious) when we got home and Dr. Later was really worried she was going to get dehydrated again so I was trying hard to prevent that by giving her pedilite every 10 min, but it wasn't helping, Dr. Later told me about this formula they send to 3rd world countries for sick babies, it's made by Similac and it's called Isomil DF. I'll tell you what, it is a miracle formula, I was changing her diaper every 10 min. and I gave it to her and by the next day no diarrhea! I would pay big money for that stuff, it's amazing! Moms out there, you need to pay attention to your little ones, they can go so fast, and there fragile little bodies can't take very much so the first sign of them getting really lethargic or just not normal, please take them in... It can save there life!! Ellie is doing great and we are so blessed to have her home and doing well. Thank you Doctors!!!

She has grown up so fast. I hope everything is going well again. Emma got the Rotavirus when she was 4 months old and was put in the hospital too. It was the most traumatic experience for both me and Emma. It made me an even bigger germ-a-phoebe. I'm glad you mentioned that formula. I never knew about it!

I'm so sorry about your little Ellie. That is so sad! I'm glad she is doing better. It is so hard to watch your kids go through things like that.

Wow, I am sorry that had to happen! Nothing is worse than sick babies and she was super sick! I am glad that she is feeling better. I know the feeling of having your child in the hospital and it is awful, so I totally feel for you! I hope all is well now!

I'm so sad you guys moved to sunnier weather...and a little jealous. Now I'll never see you at Baby Shower's...oh and thanks for all the advice...the nursing is going awesome! So I saw your parents and Carson at Macey's. They told me what was going on:( I know I would have broken into tears too. Sometimes the simple glance at Keizya's bottom lip sticking out brings tears to my eyes. I can't imagine going to the hospital. Little Ellie is so dang cute...I love that picture of her sleeping with her hand on her forehead. Their so precious. I'm glad she's feeling better though. Enjoy the sunshine! And let us know when you're in town! Love you guys!
